Gir National Park
The last refuge of the Asiatic lion in the world. Located in Gujarat's Saurashtra region, Gir's dry deciduous forests and scrubland support a thriving and expanding lion population.

Gir is the only place in the world outside Africa where lions live in the wild.
The lion population here grew from just 20 in 1900 to over 674 today.
The Maldhari tribal community has coexisted with lions in Gir for centuries.
Leopards, striped hyenas, and Indian foxes are also found throughout the park.
